Pizza Wawa makes a satisfying pizza that leans on nostalgia rather than trendiness.

It is exactly what I picture when someone says “pizza.” It’s not award-winning, would definitely piss off an italian, just the straightforward, nostalgic, hits-the-spot pizza I’d eat growing up. Good ingredients, tasty bread, generous enough to not be hungry anymore afterwards. One minor complaint: the unnecessary large drizzle of olive oil at the end, I don’t get it ; it adds extra grease without enhancing flavor, I had to remove it using a paper towel.

Servers are consistently welcoming, genuinely kind every single visit. Their sign at the entrance proudly claims “best pizza in Les Halle area,” and honestly, as far as I can tell, they might be right. Prices are fair (at least by Châtelet standards), and takeaway orders come with a free (tasty) dessert which makes the meal feel like a steal ; I picked the tiramisu.
